New Zealand tennis men's number one Dan King-Turner won his singles and doubles matches at a $15,000 ITF Tournament in Pozzuoli, Italy. King-Turner had a tough first round singles match, winning 2-6, 7-6, 4-1 when injury forced his opponent to retire.
King-Turner combined with Hiroyasu Ehara (Japan) for a 6-2, 6-2 win over Italian duo Marco Zotti and Andrea Stucchi in the doubles.
In Florida, New Zealand Davis Cup player Rubin Statham won his first-round doubles match with Australian Greg Jones at a $50,000 ATP Challenger Tournament on clay courts in Sarasota.
The pair downed locals Cory Parr and Todd Paul 6-2, 6-4 and will take on second seeds Adam Hubble and Kaden Hensel (Australia) in the next round.
