New Zealand tennis player Ben McLachlan has switched allegiances to Japan and has been named in his adopted country's Davis Cup team for this month's World Group playoff against Brazil.
The 25-year-old doubles specialist has been plying his trade in Challenger tournaments this year and has improved his ranking to 136 in the world.
McLachlan was born in Queenstown and grew up in New Zealand but qualifies for Japan through his Japanese mum.
