New Zealand doubles player Marcus Daniell and Brazilian partner Marcelo Demoliner have been scheduled for the court with the second biggest seating capacity at the Australian Open, the Hisense Arena for their third round match.
Daniell and Demoliner upset the sixth seeds Raven Klaasen (South Africa) and Rajeev Ram (United States) in the second round and now face the big-serving Australian duo of Sam Groth and Chris Guccione as the third match on Hisense Arena on Monday January 23rd.
The Arena seats 10,000 spectators and is one of the three big show courts at the Australian Open
If Daniell and Demoliner win the match they will progress into the quarter-finals, a first for a Kiwi player in doubles at a Grand Slam since Brett Steven and American Pat Galbraith at Wimbledon in 1998.
Meanwhile there has also doubles success for Kiwi juniors.
