Kiwi into 3rd round at US Open juniors

Auckland teenager Sebastian Lavie has advanced to the third round of the US Open tennis junior boys tournament.

Paris-based Lavie, 17, needed tie breaks in both sets to edge American Tennys Sandgren 7-6 7-6 this morning (NZT).

Earlier this year, Lavie made the second rounds of the junior boys competitions at the French Open and Wimbledon.
