Three New Zealand doubles pairs will be in action tomorrow (Wednesday NYC time) at the US Open as the mens and womens doubles get underway.
Marcus Daniell is scheduled on court four partnering American Brain Baker against Malek Jaziri (Tunisia) and Hans Pdlipnik-Castillo (Chile), Marina Erakovic teaming with Spaniard Arantxa Parra Santonja are up against Aleksandra Kurnic (Serbia) and Andreea Mitu (Romania) and have an 11am start on court 14.
The highest ranked of the Kiwi doubles players at 39 in the world Michael Venus and partner Mate Pavic (Croatia) play Julio Peralta (Chile) and Horacio Zeballos (Argentina) in their first round match. Venus and Pavic have won four ATP doubles titles this year and have been finalists twice.
"I love coming up here, its a great tournament and a great atmosphere. The guys were playing first round we actually lost to about one or two months ago so weve got a tough challenge first up," said Venus.
The other New Zealander in the doubles draw, Artem Sitak will play his first round clash the following day with Dutchman Robin Haase.
