New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has won her way into the quarter-finals of the US$125,000 WTA Taipei Open after a solid 7-5 6-3 over Russias Veronika Kudermetova in just under one and a half hours.
The win will earn Erakovic, currently ranked 114 in the world a minimum 29 WTA ranking points which should take her closer to the top 100.
Earlier in the tournament Erakovic beat Kyoka Okamura from Japan 6-4 6-2 in the first round. .
In the quarters Erakovic will face a tough contest against either Alison Van Uytvanck (Belgium) or Germanys Tatijana Maria who both have similar rankings to the Kiwi.
