New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has advanced to the second round of qualifying for the Wimbledon championship in London following a three-set win this morning (NZT).
Erakovic bounced back from a set down to beat Emily Webley-Smith of Great Britain 6-7 7-6 6-3, winning the crucial second set tiebreaker 8-6 to help her claim the first round match.
Her next opponent is the qualifying tournament's 17th seed, Shenay Perry of the United States. Perry accounted for another Briton today, Lucy Brown, 6-2 7-5.
