Kiwi doubles player Marcus Daniell has reached the final of the clay court ATP tournament in Bastad, Sweden after teaming up with Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner.
The pair beat Argentine Facundo Bagins and Brit Aljaz Badene 7-5 6-3 in the semifinals after earlier defeating a Swedish wildcard pair in the quarters. Daniell has one tournament victory in 2016 after winning in Stuttgart a couple of months ago.
Artem Sitak and American Nicholas Monroe reached the quarters-finals of the Bastad tournament.
At the German Open in Hamburg, a 500 ATP event Michael Venus and Mate Pavic were beaten in the first round by the French pair of Jeremy Chardy and Stephane Robert 6-4 6-3.
Daniell and Venus will be New Zealands representatives at the Rio Olympics next month
Meanwhile at the rain-affected Gstaad tournament in Switzerland Marina Erakovic was defeated in the first round by fifth seed Annika Beck 3-6 6-2 7-5.
