TOKYO (AP) Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah won their doubles match Saturday as Colombia moved a step closer to earning its first berth in the Davis Cup World Group.
Cabal and Farah beat Japan's Tatsuma Ito and Yuichi Sugita 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 at Ariake Colosseum to give the Colombians a 2-1 lead heading in Sunday's reverse singles.
Santiago Giraldo will face Japan's top player Kei Nishikori on Sunday in the first singles tie while Alejandro Falla takes on Go Soeda in the other match.
The winner will play in next year's World Group.
