Fourth-seeded Robin Soderling has been eliminated from the Australian Open in the fourth round, beaten 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 on Monday by Alexandr Dolgopolov of the Ukraine.
Soderling had been on an eight-match winning streak and had won 20 straight sets through five rounds of the Brisbane International, which he won two weeks ago, and three matches at Melbourne Park.
The pony-tailed Dolgopolov, 22, is playing in the Australian Open for the first time and finished last year ranked 48th. He is playing in a Grand Slam for the fourth time and his best previous finish was at last year's French Open, where he made it to the third round.
