Kiwi doubles player Marcus Daniell is out of the Australian Open after a marathon quarter-final.
Daniell and his British partner Dominic Inglot have been defeated 6-4, 6-7(10), 7-6(5) by seventh seeds Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic.
After nearly three hours on court, Daniell and Inglot couldn't quite execute in the deciding tiebreaker, falling into a 4-1 hole and never managing to get back on level terms.
The pairing had earlier managed to hang in the clash after a lengthy second set tiebreaker, where they nearly blew a hefty advantage before holding on to take it 12-10.
However, Marach and Pavic - who won the ASB Classic and have been the form pairing to start the 2018 season - were too strong in the end.
