New Zealand women's tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic will play her first WTA doubles final after scoring a three-set victory in her semifinal at the US$200,000 ($258,364.55) Tier III event in Istanbul.
After beating the top seeds in the first round Erakovic, 20, and her Slovenian partner, Polona Hercog, were level with Russian fourth seeds Anastasia and Arina Rodionova 4-6 6-2 before beating their opponents 10-0 in the super tiebreak.
In tomorrow morning's final, Erakovic and Hercog were to play the third seeded pair of American Jill Craybas and Olga Govortsova from Belarus.
A win in the final will take Erakovic close to the top-100 in doubles. She currently sits at 159.
The tournament in Turkey has been buildup for French Open which starts on Sunday night.
Erakovic will face veteran Italian Tathiana Garbin in the first round.
Garbin is currently ranked 56th in the world. Erakovic is 78 in singles.
