There is just one New Zealander left in the Australian Open doubles draw after Artem Sitak bowed out in the second round this afternoon.
Sitak and his partner Wesley Koolhof were edged by seventh seeds Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic, going down 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 in a two hour battle.
The defeat follows Michael Venus bowing out in the first round, and leaves just Marcus Daniell as the sole Kiwi remaining.
Daniell and partner Dominic Inglot take on the French pair of Benoit Paire and Hugo Nys in the second round tomorrow afternoon.
