3:55pm: And Carballés makes no mistake in cleaning up the rest of the set 6-1.

3:00pm 6-3, 6-1 and Monfils has waltzed into the semifinals - to more raucous cheers from the crowd.

2:49pm: Monfils takes a 4-1 lead in the second set and is looking to close out the match.

2:18pm: The Frenchman breaks Diaz and takes the first set 6-3.

1:48pm: Crowd favourite Gael Monfils has taken the court against Argentina’s Facundo Diaz.

Both players have won their first service game, at 1-1 in the opening set.

Nishesh Basavareddy defeats Alex Michelsen, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4

1:22pm: Michelsen holds serve to make it 6-4 to Basavareddy, but the teen will now have the chance to take the match.

He gets to 30-0 up, before his compatriot makes it 30-15. Basavareddy wins the next point, and gets to 40-15, and has two match points up his sleeve.

He’ll only need one! The 19-year-old is the first player through to the semifinals!

1:14pm: It’s all going with serve at the moment, but Basavareddy takes a 5-3 lead in the final set.

That leaves Michelsen with his back to the wall if he’s to avoid a quarter-final exit.

12:56pm: The teenager levels it up. He then breaks Michelsen early in the third to go 3-1 up.

We could be about to lose another seed.

12:28pm: The teenager holds a 4-1 lead in the second set, and will now serve to make it 5-1.

12:19pm: The teen sensation isn’t going to roll over! Basavareddy breaks serve to open the second set, and then holds for a 2-0 lead.

Michelsen takes the first set

12:14pm: Too easy for the eighth seed, he holds serve and wins it 6-2.

11:58am: And just like that, Michelsen breaks serve, and then holds at the other end to take a 4-1 lead in the first set.

11:00am: After a huge day for the underdogs, with the top four men’s seeds knocked out, it’s all to play for in the quarter-finals.

19-year-old Nishesh Basavareddy takes on eighth seed Alex Michelsen after getting past the defending champion Alejandro Tabilo on Wednesday.
