Davis Cup team member Rubin Statham bowed out in the quarter-finals of a US$10,000 ITF Futures tournament in Tokyo yesterday.
Statham lost to second seed Ti Chen of Taipei 4-6 7-6 (4) 7-5.
Compatriot Adam Thompson lost in the second round 6-2 6-2 to China's Xin-Yuan Yu.
Statham progressed to the doubles semifinals with his American partner, Nicholas Monroe.
