Tennis player Corina Morariu, who won the women's doubles at Wimbledon in 1999 and the mixed doubles at this year's Australian Open, has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia and is being treated in Florida.
Morariu, 23, of Boca Raton, Florida, was being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Florida.
Morariu turned professional in 1997. She won the 1999 Wimbledon doubles title with Lindsay Davenport and the 2001 Australian Open mixed doubles title with Ellis Ferreira. In all, she has won 12 WTA Tour doubles titles.
