Tennis: Daniilidou exits

The Moorilla International tennis tournament in Hobart lost its top seed yesterday because of an injury to her lower back.

The coach of Greek star Eleni Daniilidou was hopeful the world No 30 would still appear in next week's Australian Open after her shock retirement in the first round.

It was a major disappointment for Daniilidou, who was in fine form when defending her ASB Classic singles title in Auckland at the weekend.
