New Zealand swimmer Zoe Baker saw her world record broken as she took fifth place behind Australia's Jade Edmistone who won the women's 50m breaststroke title at the world championships in Montreal today (NZ time).
Edmistone swam 30.45 seconds, eclipsing Baker's 30.57sec set at the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games when she represented Britain before her switch to New Zealand.
Baker clocked 31.43sec today.
American teenager Jessica Hardy, who set the 100m breaststroke world record earlier this week, finished second in 30.85.
Brooke Hanson of Australia was third in 30.89.
Baker, 29, at her first international meet in New Zealand colours, qualified seventh fastest for the final.
The men's medley relay team had a disappointing finish to an otherwise successful championships for New Zealand when they were disqualified from the final.
Having qualified eighth for the final in New Zealand record time, the quartet of Scott Talbot-Cameron, Glenn Snyders, Moss Burmester and Cameron Gibson were disqualified for breaking early on a changeover when in eighth place.
The Slovenian team were also disqualified in the race won by the United States.
Manager Jan Cameron still rated it the most successful world championships for a New Zealand team, who qualified for seven finals.
New Zealand hadn't made a world final for seven years before these championships.
