Swimming: Strong start for Ingram

Olympian Melissa Ingram had a strong hit out on the opening night of the Auckland Championships at West Wave Aquatics Centre.

Ingram easily took out the women's 800m freestyle in a North Shore trifecta from Penny Marshall and Alannah Jury in 8:50.00.

The championships form the final shakedown ahead of next month's Commonwealth Games Trials and New Zealand Opens in the same pool.
