Swimming: Steffen sets freestyle record

Germany's Britta Steffen set a world record in the 100m freestyle in 53.30s at the European swimming championships in Budapest yesterday.

Steffen bettered the previous record set by Lisbeth Lenton of Australia in January by 0.12sec.
