Glenn Snyders will be chasing a further qualification time for the Commonwealth Games on the final night of the national swimming championships in Auckland tonight.
Snyders was fastest in heats of the 50m breaststroke, close to the qualifying mark, after qualifying in the 100m earlier in the meet.
North Shore's Andrew McMillan and West Auckland's Michael Jack topped times in heats of the 200m freestyle, just over two seconds outside the qualifying time. The pair pushed eachother to qualification to the world championships last year.
US-based Lauren Boyle was fastest in the 400m freestyle heats in four minutes 16.28 seconds ahead of Melissa Ingram and Tash Hind, while Corney Swanepoel kept his Commonwealth Games hopes alive to top qualifiers in the 50m butterfly in 24.43sec, a second outside the qualifying time.
The finals start at 6pm tonight and the Commonwealth Games team will be named tomorrow at 11am.
