KEY POINTS:
Liam Tancock set a world record in the 50m backstroke at the British swimming championships yesterday while wearing Speedo's LZR Racer swimsuit.
Tancock swam 24.47s, bettering the previous mark of 24.80s set by German Thomas Rupprath in 2003 in the non-Olympic event.
The record, the 19th to be set in the pool this year, is the first to be held by a British swimmer since Adrian Moorhouse set the 100m breaststroke mark in 1990.
