KEY POINTS:
Despite repeated jellyfish stings, New Zealand's Kane Radford finished 36th in the 10km open water swim at the 12th world championships in Melbourne yesterday.
Rotorua's Radford, the youngest finisher in the race at 16, was in the middle of a lead pack of more than 30 swimmers for the first three laps of a 2.5km circuit but drifted when the pace picked up on the final lap.
