Three New Zealand swimmers qualified for finals on the second day of heats at the Pan Pacific swimming championships in Irvine, California today.
Two of the trio of women benefited from the maximum quota rule which allows a maximum of two swimmers from each nation into the A finals, seeing them promoted to tonight's session.
Natalie Wiegersma was ninth quickest in the women's 400m individual medley in four minutes 44.65 seconds while Hayley Palmer 14th quickest in the 100m freestyle in 55.42sec.
Emily Thomas qualified for the 50m backstroke final in her own right, posting the eighth fastest time of 28.49sec.
