New Zealand backstroke specialist Melissa Ingram is worried about more than just her competition at the Pan-Pacific Championships in California.
This year's event is being held in an outdoor pool, posing problems for back-strokers who aren't able to rely on ceilings to swim straight.
Ingram is expecting some carnage when the competition gets underway early tomorrow morning New Zealand time. She says people will definitely crash into the lane ropes.
Melissa Ingram lines up in the 100 metre backstroke and the 200 metre freestyle on day one.
