There have been two more national records for the New Zealand team at the world swim championships in Montreal.
Hannah McLean has qualified fourth fastest for the semifinals in the 100 backstroke, swimming just .2 second off the top qualifier, world champion and world record holder, American Natalie Coughlan.
McLean clipped a tenth of a second off her own personal best and national record.
National coach Clive Rushton says McLean still has plenty left in the tank, although they are also realistic.
Rushton would not expect McLean to be challenging Coughlan, but she should go faster in the semis, knocking more time off her national record.
Teammate Annabelle Carey has set a new national record and PB in the heats of the 100 breaststroke, but missed out on the semifinals by one second.
Meanwhile, American superstar Michael Phelps has recovered from his shock failure in the 400 freestyle to qualify second fastest for the semis in the 200 free.
The fastest qualifier is Australian Grant Hackett, who won Monday's 400 final.
