New Zealand swimsuit designers BlueSeventy are indignant that one of their suits is still floating between banned and accepted on the world governing body's list.
BlueSeventy is adamant its Nero "swimskin" design does not require modification and has requested FINA reassess its decision to block the suits.
They were deemed to have been over the required threshold for buoyancy but chief executive Steve Nicholls says FINA has got it wrong. He says university tests show there is nothing wrong and it seems FINA has made an incorrect decision.
Nicholls says they want the issue resolved, but there is no timeframe on sorting it yet, which is a big concern with a potential of a dip in sales.
He says swimmers are looking for suits to wear for July's world championships in Rome so it means there are serious ramifications for BlueSeventy as a business.
