Australian Leisel Jones set a world record of 1m 04.12s for the 100m breaststroke at the Australian short-course swimming championships in Hobart.
Jones wiped 0.67s off the previous mark of 1m 07.79s set by Tara Kirk of the United States at Texas in March 2004.
Jones also holds the long-course record for the 100m and 200m breaststroke and is the reigning world champion over both distances.
