KEY POINTS:
New Zealand swimmer Melissa Ingram hit top form at the World Cup short course meet in Sydney.
Ingram won the women's 200m backstroke final after earlier setting a New Zealand record in finishing second in the 200m freestyle.
She set the seal on a strong night for New Zealand, with emerging talents Natalie Wiegersma and Charlotte Webby also picking up medals.
Ingram, 23, was in stunning form with a brilliant victory in her favoured 200m backstroke, leaving South African Melissa Corfe and Australia's Belinda Hocking in her wake.
After qualifying second fastest, Ingram dominated the final, leading after a fast first 50m, and then pacing her race impressively.
She clocked a time of two minutes 4.75 seconds, 5/100 of a second outside her own New Zealand record, set at the world championships this year.
Earlier, Ingram finished second between Australians Ellen Fullerton and Olympian Bronte Barrett in the final of the 200m freestyle. Teammate Hayley Palmer finished seventh in the same race.
Ingram posted a time of one minute 57.28 seconds, breaking the New Zealand record set at the Berlin World Cup meet in 2003 by Alison Fitch.
Wiegersma, a former world youth champion, finished third in the final of the 200m individual medley behind South African Katheryn Meakum and Fullerton. Webby also won a bronze medal in the 800m freestyle.
