The national short course swimming champions began with a roar in Waitakere last night as seven swimmers went under qualifying times for the world championships.
North Shore's Robert Voss, Andrew McMillan and Glenn Snyders and England-based Cameron Gibson earned places on the New Zealand team for the world championships to be held in Manchester next April.
Moss Burmester, Dean Kent and Melissa Ingram also went under the qualifying times in the first night of heats at the West Wave Aquatic Centre.
