Swimming: Burmester, Ingram off the pace

Top Kiwis Moss Burmester and Melissa Ingram have missed out on A finals on the opening day of the Pan Pacific Championships in California.

Burmester clocked 1.58 mins in finishing 11th in the heats of his favoured 200 metres butterfly.

Ingram missed out qualifying in the 100 backstroke.

Gareth Keen clocked a personal best time in qualifying for the A final of the 100 backstroke, while Natasha Hinds also clocked a personal best in qualifying for the A final of the 200 freestyle.
