North Shore brothers Brad and Mark Herring won medals on the third night of finals at the Australian age-group swimming championships in Perth on Wednesday night.
Brad Herring, aged 18, won the 50m freestyle in 23.68s, while Mark Herring, aged 15, clocked 53.68s in finishing second to Australian Ashley Anderson in the 100m freestyle.
The New Zealand contingent won a total of six medals on the night, with silvers to North Shore's Natalie Bernard, aged 14, in the 200m freestyle and Christchurch's Arjun Haszard, aged 14, in the 200m freestyle.
Taieri's Lara McCambridge, aged 17, won bronze in the 50m freestyle in 26.80s, while her Otago team-mate Jonathan Duncan, who earlier qualified for the Sydney Olympics in the 400m freestyle, was third in the 1500m in 16m 4.11s.
