KEY POINTS:
New Zealand swimmer Zoe Baker has broken her national record in the build-up to next month's World Championship Trials.
The 30-year-old Baker won the British University short course championship title in Sheffield yesterday, clocking 30.49s for the 50m breaststroke.
This clipped more than 1/10 of a second off her previous New Zealand record of 30.64s set at the Fina world short course championships in China this year.
Baker, based at Bath during her Northern Hemisphere racing season, also led her team to a freestyle relay record, clocking a personal best 25.58s which is only 3/10 of a second off the New Zealand record held by Nichola Chellingworth.
