KEY POINTS:
New Zealand swimmer Melissa Ingram has grabbed another medal at the World Cup short course meet in Moscow.
Ingram finished second in the final of the 400m freestyle today after winning the 200m backstroke yesterday.
The 23-year-old qualified sixth fastest for the final.
She led out strongly in the final and was only edged out in the closing 100m by Russian Elena Sokolova, who won in a time of four minutes 3.99 seconds.
Ingram was next in 4min 5.11sec, 1sec outside her New Zealand record set in a fortnight ago at the Sydney leg of the World Cup series.
Yesterday, she produced a well controlled performance to win the 200m backstroke in 2min 4.93sec, clear of Russia's Maria Nikitina and Japan's Tomoya Fukuda.
Ingram has secured seven wins and four second placings from 12 finals in the World Cup series.
She entered the Moscow meet in fourth place overall in the standings.
The top three men and women share a prize pool of $600,000 at the end of the seven-meet series.
Ingram is in action again on Wednesday and Thursday (NZT) in the penultimate round in Stockholm ahead of the finale in Berlin next weekend.
