Leading New Zealand surfer Paige Hareb's campaign in the Roxy Pro championships on the Gold Coast has been postponed by a tsunami warning issued after an earthquake in Chile.
Beaches on the east coast of Australia were closed after the quake, including Coolangatta where the first round of heats was to be held today.
Hareb has drawn Sally Fitzgibbon (Australia) and Hawaiian Carissa Moore in her heat.
The women's competition - and the second heats of the men's event - will start tomorrow, weather permitting.
