New Zealand's top surfer, Maz Quinn, took fourth place at the Vendee Pro competition in France.
The result gave Quinn his first finals berth in two years on the world qualifying series after he competed on the elite world championship tour in 2002. He pocketed US$2400 ($3340) for his efforts, and boosted his ratings to reach the top 50.
