Surfing: Hareb third in heat

New Zealand's Paige Hareb finished third in her heat on the first day of the Roxy Pro surfing competition on Queensland's Gold Coast yesterday.

Drawn against Australian Sally Fitzgibbons and Carissa Moore, of Hawaii, Hareb scored 9.77 points - 13th highest out of 18 - and faces an elimination round today.
