Surfing: Hareb advances on tour

New Zealander Paige Hareb is through to the quarter-finals of the ASP surfing women's tour event in Peniche, Portugal.

Hareb will meet Australian triple world champion Stephanie Gilmore after easing through the opening rounds.

She finished second on 10.83 to Australian Chelsea Hedges' 12.00 in the first round, then accounted for another Australian, Rebecca Woods, 11.50 to 8.60 in the third round to seal a quarter-final spot.
