Surfing: Christie dominates surf

Richard Christie continued to set the standard at the national surfing championships in Gisborne yesterday.

Christie, of Gisborne, was in top form as he advanced to the open men's semifinals with a dominant win in his quarter-final heat.

After posting three qualifying heat wins on Thursday, he was back in the groove to set a score of 17.67, which was not matched by any of his rivals.
