Nippers aspiring to represent New Zealand one day have the chance to rub shoulders with two of our best this summer.
Superstars Daniel Moodie and Nikki Cox will meet and mentor the next generation in February.
The first meeting is at the Lion Foundation Surf League on February 5 and the second is at Ocean's 11 on February 26, both at Main Beach, Mt Maunganui.
The duo will sign autographs, be available for photos and answer questions and give tips to the nippers wanting to follow in their footsteps.
"Living on the Gold Coast makes it hard to get home as much as I'd like, especially during the summer, but this season I wanted to get back to New Zealand and meet the new nippers coming through the ranks," said Moodie.
"If I can inspire the next generation of nippers to love surf life saving that's awesome - I would love to see more champions come through to bolster the sport here in New Zealand."
"I get back regularly to help out the kids in the Hawkes Bay when I can," said Cox.
"We thought it'd be cool for all New Zealand nippers if we organised something and got to meet as many of them as possible ..."
