Glenn Anderson produced the perfect captain's knock for the New Zealand surf lifesaving team at the world championships in Egypt yesterday.
After a difficult opening session at the Mubarak Military Pool in Alexandria, the 30-year-old produced a record-breaking swim to win gold in the 200m super lifesaver, heading home Germany's Marcel Hassemeier.
New Zealand finished the day third overall, behind Germany and Italy.
