Leading New Zealanders Shelley Kitchen and Tamsyn Leevey bowed out in the second round in Doha yesterday.
Kitchen started well against Malaysia's Nicol David, taking the first game 9-5, but she was unable to match the world No 4 over the next three games, losing 9-5, 3-9, 6-9, 0-9.
After upsetting the world No 8 on Wednesday, Leevey's giant-killing run ended against Irish 11th seed Madeline Perry when she went down 4-9, 2-9, 4-9.
