Kitchen is backing up from a surprise defeat to Australian Kasey Brown in last weekend's Central Open.
Kitchen's opponent in the first round on Friday night will be Amanda Cranston who was recently named in New Zealand team for August's Junior Women's World Championships in Hong Kong.
The biggest threat to Kitchen for the title will be second seeded New Zealander Louise Chrome, currently ranked 31 in the world.
Australian Lisa Camilleri is third seed while Japan's Chinatsu Matsui rounds out the top four.
