The New Zealand qualifier upset Irish seventh seed Madeline Perry, cruising to a 9-7 9-3 9-1 victory in just 34 minutes.
It was Kitchen's second victory over the world No 9 on the women's tour this year.
Kitchen will face world No 1 Nicol David from Malaysia in the last eight.
Fellow New Zealander Kashif Shuja dipped out in the men's draw, losing to third seeded Australian Stewart Boswell 13-11 11-9 11-4.
