New Zealand's leading squash player, Joelle King, is through to the semifinals of the US Open championships in Philadelphia.
World No 5 King beat England's fourth-ranked Alison Waters 12-10 11-2 11-3 today in 37 minutes.
It is the second consecutive year the Cambridge-based King has made the last four. The result could propel King up one spot to a career-high No 4 when the new world ranking are released at the start of next month.
King will now meet the formidable world No 1 Nicol David of Malaysia, in a repeat of last year's epic, when the Malaysian won in five games.
David advanced after beating Ireland's Madeline Perry in straight games.
