Two New Zealanders have qualified for the final 32 at the world junior squash championships in Milan.
Callum O'Brien and Jared Conning, the first New Zealanders since 1992 to progress this far, had matches early today to determine whether they qualified for the final 16.
New Zealand manager Mark Devoy was delighted with his players' progress. "For the first time in several years we are competing with the best in the world," he said.
Two other New Zealanders, Sam Atkins and James Vincent, were eliminated from the individual competition in the latest round.
The teams' title will be contested after the individual championship.
