After a gruelling Commonwealth Games squash campaign in which she claimed two golds, Joelle King has fallen in the second round of her return to the professional world tour.
Kiwi world No.4 King lost to Hong Kong woman Annie Au 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 5-11, 6-11 in 49 minutes in the El Gouna International in Egypt.
It was the 29-year-old's second match since accumulating a singles gold, women's doubles gold and mixed doubles bronze at the Games on the Gold Coast.
She had flown straight to Egypt from the Commonwealth Games.
Top-ranked Kiwi Paul Coll was to contest the men's tournament but was forced to pull out because of ill-health.
