New Zealander Jaclyn Hawkes was beaten in the quarter-finals of a United States squash tournament in Cleveland yesterday.
Englishwoman Alison Waters beat Hawkes 11-6, 11-8, 13-11 to march through to the semifinals of the National City Burning River Squash Classic. She will meet No 1 seed Racheal Grinham (Australia), who accounted for England's Tania Bailey 11-5, 11-5, 11-8.
England's Laura Lengthorn-Massaro and American second-seed Natalie Grainger will meet in the other semifinal.
