New Zealand qualifier Kashif Shuja scored the biggest win of his career to advance to the second round of the British Open squash championship in Manchester yesterday. Shuja, ranked No 45, beat world No 15 Mohamed El Shorbagy of Egypt 11-7 13-11 9-11 2-11 11-7. However fellow New Zealanders Martin Knight and Campbell Grayson were eliminated in the first round. Knight lost to world No 7 Thierry Lincou of France 11-7 11-2 11-7, while Grayson went down to English 10th seed James Willstrop 11-4 11-5 11-7.
