Vanessa Atkinson, of the Netherlands, won the women's World Open squash championship in Kuala Lumpur with an easy 9-1, 9-1, 9-5 victory over Australian Natalie Grinham, 26.
Atkinson, 28, said she had not expected the match to be so easy based on Grinham's game the previous day in the semifinal against Malaysia's Nicol David.
Grinham's five-game encounter with David lasted 87 minutes, and some commentators described it as one of the best women's matches of all time.
Atkinson, the tournament third seed, reached the final after a shock win over Grinham's elder sister Rachael, the world No 1, in the semifinals.
